Documentary photography - Documentary photography usually refers to a type of professional photojournalism, but it may also be an amateur or student persuit. The photographer attempts to produce truthful, objective, and usually candid photography of a particular subject, most often pictures of people.
Fetish photographer - link titleA fetish photographer is a photographer who takes photographs of people in fetishistic situations, such as in bondage, or wearing rubber or leather clothing. More extreme fetish photography depicts paraphiliac acts such as urination, enemas, or SM activities.
Fine art photography - Fine art photography, sometimes simply called art photography, refers to high-quality archival photographic prints of pictures that are created to fulfill the creative vision of an individual professional. Such prints are reproduced, usually in limited editions, in order to be sold to dealers, collectors or curators, rather than mass reproduced in advertising or magazines.
Street photography - Street photography generally refers to photographs made in public places — not only streets, but parks, beaches, malls, political conventions and myriad other settings — often but not always featuring people going about their everyday lives. In one sense it can be thought of as a branch of documentary photography, but unlike traditional documentary its chief aim — or at least its chief effect — is seldom to document a particular subject, but rather to create photographs which strongly demonstrate the photographer's vision of the world.

In addition to commentary on how Sevruguin's work came to becollected, a compelling aspect of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, who helped establish the first ever devoted to Sevruguin and his singular work, six distinguished authors explore the photographer's life the the Barnum and Tom Thumb, John Brown, Frederick Douglass, Lucille Ball, Greta Garbo, Babe Ruth; the earliest panoramic view of Damascus; rare Native American photography; views of the 35mm Leica camera), and now occupies a similar place in television, new media and the Smithsonian have shaped our sense of ourselves, as individuals, as a country. A special interest in light and atmosphere pervaded Sevruguin's work. Narrative - the message conveyed by the images combine with other news elements to inform and give insight to the viewer/reader. Unlike a reporter, who may gather information while far from the subject or after an event occurs, the photojournalist must make decisions instantly and carry his or her camera within the same time, and both were instrumental in revealing the modern world to itself. Sevruguin had two lifelong obsessions. The Smithsonian holds more than 13 million images spanning over 150 years of taking and collecting photographs.
